Storr Lochs
The Storr Lochs are Loch Fada and Loch Leathan, located on the dramatic Trotternish Ridge against the back drop of the Old Man Of Storr.

The loch's are only a 15 minute drive away from Portree along the scenic A855 Staffin Road. Car parking is available on the roadside which provides easy access to the lochs.

Portree Angling Association (PAA) manage the rights to these premier lochs which can reward you with some fantastic brown trout.

The lochs, which are joined, have boats available to use including a wheelie boat for disabled access. Loch Fada is the first and smaller of the two lochs and the shallowest, so anglers can fish the whole length of the loch in a boat or choose to stay on the bank and fish.

The northern Loch Leathan is much
bigger with small bays and islands. Again suitable for the boat or bank angler. If you're here in early June you may well witness the Mayfly hatch as it's usual to occur around this time.

Hill Lochs
These too are managed by the PAA and again are lcoated north of the island mainly in the Trotternish Ridge area. Depending on your fitness and ability will determine which loch is more suitable to fish on. Some require a short walk, where as others require more walking across difficult terrain and so are more suited to anglers with a reasonable level of fitness. Only Loch Connon has a boat available. Fishing is done from the bank on all the other Hill Lochs.

Either way, the beautiful scenery, dramatic landscape, abundance of wildlife (eagles, deer etc) and of course, fish, will not disappoint you. The fish in these lochs may be small, due to limited food supply, however they are hard fighting and will test your ability.
